More Bath Time

Bath time is getting much more enjoyable Momma G's system is quite efficient. We are still not sure if LP will like Mom's 7 minute shower or Dad's 25 minute version.

LP are you chewing gum?

Daddy's Twin

LP was sitting on my lap during a sun rich morning. The rays were shining through LP's hair, making them almost invisible. I guess I won't have to shave her head to make a Mini Me.

We love the little hand flippy things that flip over her hands. She gets pretty fussy and her little wolverine claws get pretty dangerous.

We think that her eyes are going to be blue. They are lightening up a bit. They are also more clear, big and bright.

Our little girl has a sweet temperament, and lucky for us since we bought her at Target and we lost our receipt.

Dad, I was think'n

Dad, while I was chill'n on your shoulder here. I was think'n... with the US dollar sliding into the diaper region and the stock market as erratic has it has been maybe we should consider a more diversified investment strategy in small cap...

Huh?

Short Post

We are so appreciative of all the support friends and the church have given. The right people at the right time have been so supportive. The generosity that has been shown us is wonderful. It has been humbling to be on the receiving end of it.

G was wondering if some of her friends had received the email announcing LP and this blog. Very few have sent a return email. Also if you would like to comment on any of the blog posts, don't hesitate to make a blogger account. It only takes a minute and is free.

Finally, something other than pink.

BURRRRRRRP! Good one Peanut, just like your ol' man.
Jan 19, 2008

Aunt K and kids got LP these socks last summer. On LP they look like knee highs. Daddy is really lazy, he refuses to snap the middle snap on the onesy. It seems unnecessary. But in order to not look lazy he snaps the outer two rather than just the center one

A Hint of a Routine

Well, it seems we are hitting a stride. Or better we have lowered our expectations as to what can be accomplished in a day. S is working from home so he can be an extra pair of hands. LP has a bit of a routine. G is sneaking in her naps.

It's funny, bordering on embarrassing the things that we don't know we don't know.

We asked what do we do for diaper rash? Logical question. Use a zinc oxide product was the logical answer. The missing part was, Zinc Oxide is a preventative barrier.
Once LP got a nasty diaper rash we began to apply Zinc Oxide. Now we know.

"Butt Paste" is the most awesome goo. Don't know what is in it, but we have finally gotten the rash under control. Now we get to see how Zinc Oxide really works.

What did they do a century ago for diaper rash? Is it just a problem with diapers? Did dirt floors solve some of the problems?

LP likes bath time, she likes to lay under the heat lamps, they make her sleepy.

LP is just chill'n on Momma's lap, wearing more pink. She has outgrown her first outfit. Good for her.

Little Chameleon

We had another beautiful sunny morning. And G started thinking about pictures for announcements. G liked the drama of the lighting, but thought that LP looked boyish.
We have seen so many people and expressions in LP, she is a little chameleon.

She is sometimes contemplative, not quite on par with Rodin's "The Thinker", after all he wasn't wearing a ribbon in his hair.
Jan 09, 2008

I will give you one guess what LP is doing here. It's something Grandma C is really good at. I am going to get a dipper up side my head for this one, but it was worth it.

And finally... I was a bit concerned after seeing this picture that perhaps Presidential hopeful and Governor of New Mexico, Bill Richardson humm umm...

I would like to publicly thank the Governor for sending us a congratulatory birth card for LP.

First Tub Bath

It was a momentous day. Little Peanuts UC stump fell off this morning. On one hand it was great because we had been instructed no tub baths until the stump fell off - girl was getting ripe. On the other hand, daddy is going to miss flick'n it and trying to ring cheerios on it. Oh yeah, there was some sort of mother daughter connection thing going on as well.

We bought her a little blue tub. This is a great device for potty training. As soon as you put her in it... she poos, peas, if she could do something else, she would. As with everything, this first bath took a long time. How do you hold a baby to wash her hair. She's a slippery little sucker. Is the water to hot, to cold, will she react to the soap, keep her head up. Ooooh, she did that in the water. How do you wash... well you know those places.
Jan 07, 2008

Daddy loves to give kisses and noses to LP. And even more so after a bath. Now if we could just do something about that milk breath. Maybe get Momma to start eat'n mints or something.

Uncle D's Birthday

Today was Uncle D's birthday. LP's first birthday other than her own. She got Uncle D a car wash gift certificate for his cool car. After all it has to be clean if he is going to take her to the traveling version of "The highschool musical" that daddy won't take her to. What a good uncle.

Uncle D promised to teach LP how to load filing cabinets into the back of a truck. LP is going to teach Uncle D how to pluck his eyebrow.

Grandma G is a giddy as a school girl when she has LP. Daddy is hoping that LP learns how to make tortilla's & tamales from Grandma G.
Grandma G had retired from teaching Sabbath School. I bet she picks it back up in a couple of years.
Jan 2, 2008

If LP turns out to be spoiled rotten, Grandma G will be to blame. Grandma C will have to take some credit to. But since she is not pictured here we won't talk about her.

Going to Sleep

This new bedtime is rediculous. Before LP we had been getting closer to the 10PM nighty nite, but that is history. Nighty nite is when you get to close your eyes.

The ritual is new to us, but the 100 billion people on the planet before us are all familiar with it.
Feed, clean em' up, feed some more, clean em up, special time, put em' to bed, and thats called a 2 hour lunch. By the way you haven't eaten yet. We will adapt.

But after a long day, we laid LP down for our night (her 1.5 hour nap) and we were greeted with this...
Jan 02, 2008 - 12:41AM

she is clueless as to her expression... but it warmed our hearts.

We read and drew a plan from the book babywise. One of the first question was... is the baby going to join your schedule or are you going to join hers. Looking back with a whopping two weeks of experience, its not an either or question.
Jan 02, 2008 - 12:42AM

In the end she will join our schedule, but she will have made the schedule for us.
